or Living Celebrations (Because I don’t want you thinking about what almost no one is willing to talk about)
I’m Up for Exploring What Awareness Means to Us, Aren’t You?
We only have this one life to live. Even the difficult parts can be fun if all of us do it together. Seems simple enough, right? It appears that way. And I wonder what that fundamental force is that shapes this human life…what compels us to celebrate it.
I don’t think we need to wait until someone is on their deathbed to start planning a celebration of life. I want to spend my life’s “attention” figuring out the answer to the question, “What happens when a large number of people intentionally direct our awareness, towards one moment?”
What Can Humanity Do with Our Consciousness?
I’m currently brainstorming ideas: where is your attention, and is it there intentionally? I’ve noticed that the concept of “attention” is a common-denominator for most people that I come across. Focus your attention on where you want to go, life will take you there. Focus on what isn’t working in your life, that’s where you’ll stay. I’ve found this works on the conscious, sub conscious and even unconscious levels!
In a real world scenario, most leaders naturally project their attention on something, a plan or goal, and it comes to fruition. Whether they are doing this intentionally or instinctually, the result is the same because their “attention” is the important component. Conversely, those who follow these leaders looking for a plan are fulfilling their “destinies”, by avoiding the responsibility of focusing their attention on where they want to go, by looking for help outside of themselves and relying on somebody else’s attention.
What in (My) Life Am I Giving Attention To, Why, and Is that Choice Moving Me Toward the Person I Want to Become?
Unlike money, time or energy, “attention” can show us where our values are. “Successful” people, or the people who meet society’s traditional definition of success, have an internal success before their external world reflects that. It starts with ideas, or dreams, that lead to internal focus on the evidence of our own attention, and ultimately this leads to making your internal success of finding your attention, an external reality making you successful. Or put another way, people acknowledging and mirroring one’s internal reality which is ultimately success.
This is the case for people who end up where they want to be, and for those of us who get lost, forgetful, and confused along the way. Life itself seems to be made up of long and short transitional moments, leading from infancy to death. No matter what we pay attention to, it’ll come full circle. This is the wholeness of our lives. Oddly enough, we are whole people from conception AND we are growing, learning and advancing along the way. Even childbirth is an idea that starts from one, or both of our parents.
I don’t completely understand it myself, hence my interest and curiosity so I won’t belabor the idea here : ) But the point is that we become what we repeatedly attend to. Where your attention goes, energy flows. I appreciate you sticking with me and would love to talk more with you about any ideas you have. This is an open invitation to explore life’s mystery, together.
That’s why…
